Dr. Michael Taylor, AVERY DENNISON Product Line Manager – PS Label Materials, United Kingdom
In January 2016 Michael switched from Avery Dennison’s Materials Group to its Retail Branding Division, RBIS to take up a new role as Product Line Manager – Pressure Sensitive Materials.
An established Polymer Scientist with a special interest in structure-property relationships, Michael gained his PhD in 2001 at the Victoria University of Manchester, UK.
Previously Michael was Technology Manager at Avery Dennison’s India Research Center, which he helped to set up in 2014. Prior to that he was Senior Research Associate in the Films Technology Group at Avery Dennison Leiden, Netherlands, bringing with him into that role, 13 years experience in innovating new BOPP films for labelling applications from his time as Product Manager at Innovia Films UK.
Prior to studying for his PhD, Michael spent 6 years in the plastics compounding business developing innovative glass fibre & mineral reinforced compounds for automotive applications.
In his current role he is responsible for Technical Consultancy on Pressure-sensitive label materials, New Product Development and Market Introduction with a strong focus on improving product sustainability, in Avery Dennison’s Core Innovation Team.
