Dr. Jamie Cohen, THE DOW CHEMICAL COMPANY

Global Director, EMEA and Director Core R&D EU

Jamie L. Cohen is the Global R&D Director for the Europe, Middle East, Africa region and also responsible for Core R&D in Europe, and leads the coordination of R&D activities within the region. Cohen works closely with business and geography leaders across functions in the region to help fill Dow’s R&D innovation pipeline. In addition, she works to drive connectivity with strategic universities and government agencies, build and reinforce networks for people development, and amplify existing and enable new key customer collaborations. Specific to Core R&D, Cohen partners with capability R&D directors to continue to strengthen the strategic focus in Europe with special concentration on hiring, external technology, and technical employee development.

Prior to being named Global R&D Director, Jamie was R&D Director for Chemical Science in Core R&D responsible for global capability development within synthetic organic, inorganic and polymer technologies as well as homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis with applicability to a range of Dow businesses.

Jamie joined Dow on the Research Assignments Program in 2007 and was sponsored by Analytical Sciences. She worked in Core R&D and in the Dow Energy Materials (DEM) business as a project leader for various lithium ion battery platforms. Jamie also spent nearly two years in R&D strategy and corporate strategy roles reporting directly to the Executive VP and Chief Technology Officer of The Dow Chemical Company. Jamie was Associate R&D Director for CMP Slurry responsible for leading global R&D activities for the slurry business within the Chemical Mechanical Planarization Technology business group in the Electronic Materials business group.

Jamie received her PhD in Chemistry from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY in 2007.
