Talke Schaffrannek, BASF Director Applied Sustainability – Sustainability Strategy
Talke Schaffrannek leads the Applied Sustainability group at BASF SE in Ludwigshafen. In this position she is responsible for implementing the company’s sustainability strategy into the business activities. This includes to apply “Sustainable Solution Steering”, BASF’s methodology to segment the product portfolio according to sustainability criteria. Talke and her team are also carrying out sustainability consultancy projects for customers and divisions, including Eco-Efficiency Analyses and opportunity finding workshops, for example.
Talke studied International Business in Cambridge and Landshut and holds an Executive MBA degree from Mannheim Business School and Tongji University. She started at BASF in 2004 in a marketing function and was later on a global product manager for coatings raw materials. Before joining the corporate sustainability strategy team, Talke went to China for 3,5 years where she was leading the Asia Pacific team of market developers to create solutions across BASF’s business units.
