Corporate Vice President R&D
Dr. Thomas Förster is responsible for the Global R&D of Henkel Beauty Care. He was appointed Corporate Vice President R&D in 2003, after a 3-years job rotation program in different functions in Beauty Care. After studying chemistry at the Technical University of Berlin and getting his Ph. D., he started his career at Henkel in 1986 in the Corporate Research Department, where he gained various experiences in innovations when dealing with R&D projects in Oilfield&Mining, Detergents, Care Chemicals, Cosmetics, and establishing a Biological Research Platform. He was honored with several Innovation Awards and is author of numerous patents on Emulsions, Skin and Hair Cosmetics. He has published numerous scientific articles and is editor of “Cosmetic Lipids and the Skin Barrier”. He is a lecturer on cosmetic science and sustainability at the University Duisburg-Essen and the Düsseldorf Business School.He is Member of the Board of the European business association Cosmetics Europe, the Board of the German test institute Stiftung Warentest, Stiftung der Nordrhein-Westfälischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Künste, and of the scientific board of the Düsseldorf Business School
