Dr. Peter Nieuwenhuizen, ENERKEM Dr. Peter Nieuwenhuizen obtained a Ph.D. in chemistry from Leiden University, The Netherlands. He held several positions at AkzoNobel, at the lab bench, in sales & marketing and business strategy, as well as executive roles in supply chain, innovation and sustainability. He also worked a strategy consultant for Arthur D. Little in the Chemicals & Energy sector, which is where he started his passion for circular and biobased chemistries. In the last 5 years, as CTO for AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals, he oversaw strategic initiatives to open up AkzoNobel innovation to public-private, startup and circular chemistry partnering. As the circular chemistry momentum builds, Peter is now getting directly engaged with circular chemistry startups and funding initiatives.
